ABOUT PINTAR

Prasarana International Training Academy of Rail (PINTAR) manages the technology transfer of knowledge and skills from the System Contractors to the Operations and Maintenance personnel.

Effective management of the system competency trainings is fundamental in rail workforce capability building.

It is a challenge for Operators around the world to develop and maintain the competency and qualification of its personnel to man the safety critical system, subsystem and equipment of the urban rail in order to ensure safe and efficient transit systems especially throughout revenue service.

Prasarana International Training Academy of Rail (PINTAR) is entrusted to manage all systems and subsystems trainings for the major rail alignments that run through Klang Valley, operating the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, LRT Ampang Line, KL Monorail Line and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Kajang Line & Putrajaya Line. These trainings include competency assessment, certification and licensing needs for staff; these are required to operate and maintain the safety critical system and equipment at all five rail lines for effective and efficient conduct of the Rail Operations and Maintenance Training Programme.

The Academy runs training facilities concurrently at respective depots of each rail line. This is essential as system competency trainings aim to produce highly competent personnel that can readily perform specific Operations and Maintenance tasks that differ between each line.

PINTAR is recognised by Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia (MOHR) as a full-fledged Accreditation Centre to conduct skills training programme under Malaysia Skills Certification based on National Occupational Skills Standard. With this recognition, PINTAR is moving with the long-term focus on obtaining higher learning institution level.
